Good Times

There is something near perfection that happens when you scrapbook great pictures of people you love on beautiful paper. It just feels good. My hubby took my kids to see his parents Saturday and I got to spend Saturday night scrapping with my good friend. We had lots of fun. We listened to music , acted like goofballs, and got to relive some great memories while scrapping our family pictures. Love times like this!

Happy Birthday Barbie!

Did you know today is Barbie's 50th birthday? Happy birthday Barbie. I remember getting Western Barbie for Christmas when I was a little girl and she was supposed to be able to wink with one of her beautiful blue eye-shadowed eyes but it didn't work. I remember being in my room with the door closed and smacking my brand new Barbie against my dresser. I don't know why. Maybe I thought that would make her work. Poor Western girl. For the most part, I loved my Barbies and took very good care of them. I dressed them stylishly and let them drive happily around in the pink convertible. I love the memories I have of being a little girl and letting my imagination roam with those dolls.

My birthday

We went out to the beach last Monday on my birthday to take some pictures. I was super excited because we got some really great
ones even though it was chilllllly. We had fun and now I have lots of sweetness to scrapbook. Yay! Happy birthday to me.

52 sketches layout

Here's my layout for this week's sketch on 52 sketches. The layout makes me smile but the photo of it is pretty bad. I am really enjoying doing these sketches and want to find more sites like this - just haven't had the time.

oh so happy...

A sunflower painting I painted last week. I actually painted this as a sample for my art class - to teach them about van Gogh and large brush strokes. It makes me happy.

A layout I made last night using 52 Sketches52weeks. Just found this site and am going to give it a go. There is a new sketch every week to get your creative juices going and you can even win great stuff if you participate. This layout is a bit unusual for me because there's only 1 photo. I decided to do a Valentines layout of my hubby & I and I like it. I always scrap the kids so this was fun. Hope you like! The paper is Close To My Heart's Magic Moments.

My Gingerbread house

A cute little gingerbread house I made for an art class I teach to kiddos. We used Model Magic to cover a wooden bird house. Came out pretty cute. Great Christmas project to do with the kiddos.
